91_HR0757 LRB9113809KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields has dedicated his life to serving 3 others; and 4 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields has served as a teacher, coach, 5 and administrator in Illinois' public schools; and 6 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields is completing a distinguished 7 career in education serving as Superintendent of Zion-Benton 8 Township High School District 126; and 9 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields has provided leadership for the 10 young people of Illinois through a life filled with positive 11 contributions in a number of endeavors; and 12 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields has served as a catalyst for 13 positive change in the effective development and 14 implementation of Student Assistance Programs, nationally 15 recognized as a visionary program designed to end the scourge 16 of drugs and alcohol abuse; and 17 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields has effectively reached out to 18 at-risk students not only at Zion-Benton Township High 19 School, but across the State of Illinois; and 20 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields has inspired many other school 21 districts by his uplifting message of hope and caring, a 22 message that has resulted in the establishment of drug and 23 alcohol treatment and prevention programs across the State of 24 Illinois and in many other states, providing a safe and drug 25 free environment; and 26 WHEREAS, Gary M. Fields has, through his examples of 27 enthusiasm, commitment, and determination, made success a 28 reality in the lives of thousands of young people, inspiring 29 educators to be their best, providing good counsel to 30 administrators as they enter their positions of leadership in -2- LRB9113809KBkb 1 education; therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 3 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 4 we gratefully acknowledge the contributions made by Gary M. 5 Fields in the field of education in the State of Illinois; as 6 a result of the leadership of Gary M. Fields, Illinois 7 schools will be better places in which young people can learn 8 and develop to their fullest potential; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 10 presented to Gary M. Fields.
