1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Dr. Kenneth
3 Stellon is retiring as principal from Hadley Junior High
4 School in Glen Ellyn after sixteen years; and
5 WHEREAS, Dr. Stellon began the successful Exploratory
6 Program at the school, and has kept this program operating to
7 this day; and
8 WHEREAS, Dr. Stellon established the Special Education
9 Inclusion Program and enhanced the effectiveness of the
10 school's Academic Teaming approach; and
11 WHEREAS, Dr. Stellon established and promoted Student
12 Government Day, placing junior high students with local
13 government officials for a day; and he reestablished
14 effective communication between parents and the school; and
15 WHEREAS, In 1986, Dr. Stellon led the school to
16 recognition as one of the best schools in the nation with the
17 Excellence in Education award given by the United States
18 Department of Education; and
19 WHEREAS, Dr. Stellon began the Music Education Foundation
20 helping the Hadley Junior High Band, under the direction of
21 Donald Crews, to be selected for the last eight years to
22 perform at the Illinois Superstate Contest sponsored by the
23 University of Illinois School of Music; and
24 WHEREAS, Dr. Stellon has earned the respect and
25 admiration of all; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Dr. Kenneth Stellon on his retirement from
29 Hadley Junior High School and applaud all the devoted work he
30 has performed in his sixteen years at the school; and be it

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Dr. Kenneth Stellon.
