1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives congratulate the Illinois Health Care
4 Association (IHCA) on its 50th anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, The purpose of IHCA is to promote excellence in
6 standards of care in long-term health care facilities and
7 programs by exchange of information between its members,
8 other community agencies, professional personnel, and the
9 general public; and as a resource to long-term care
10 professionals, IHCA promotes better care of patients and the
11 development of solutions to problems which are common to the
12 members of the Association; and
13 WHEREAS, IHCA is celebrating its 50th anniversary on
14 September 12, 2000, the celebration to include many of the
15 former presidents of the Association and an opening address
16 by Olympic gold medalist Peter Vidmar; and
17 WHEREAS, IHCA is currently directed by former State
18 Representative and Director of the Department of Public
19 Health William L. Kempiners; and
20 WHEREAS, IHCA is the largest professional trade
21 association representing long-term care facilities and
22 programs in Illinois; and
23 WHEREAS, IHCA is recognized as a leader providing
24 opportunities for professional development and personal
25 growth; and
26 WHEREAS, The members of IHCA are meeting in Springfield,
27 Illinois, from September 11-13, 2000, for their annual
28 convention and trade show which is focused on the theme
29 "Going for the Gold in the New Millennium"; and
30 WHEREAS, 4,000 long-term care professionals will be in

1 attendance at the IHCA Convention and Trade Show; therefore,
2 be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we congratulate the Illinois Health Care Association on its
6 50th anniversary; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the Illinois Health Care Association.
