1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
3 Teachers Association promotes the interest of Family and
4 Consumer Sciences education in all subject matter areas and
5 at all levels; and
6 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
7 Teachers Association unites into one statewide organization
8 those persons interested in promoting Family and Consumer
9 Sciences education; and
10 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
11 Teachers Association assumes and maintains an active State
12 leadership in the promotion of Career and Technical Education
13 in Family and Consumer Sciences; and
14 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
15 Teachers Association acts as a central agency to help keep
16 the people of this State, including legislators and our
17 representation in the national congressional bodies, clearly
18 and reliably informed of the purposes, needs, and
19 accomplishments of Career and Technical Education in Family
20 and Consumer Sciences education programs; and
21 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
22 Teachers Association provides opportunities for professional
23 growth and development of all Career and Technical
24 Education/Family and Consumer Science educational personnel;
25 and
26 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
27 Teachers Association helps to establish and maintain high
28 quality Career and Technical Education/Family and Consumer
29 Sciences educational programs from early childhood through
30 adulthood; and
31 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences

1 Teachers Association promotes The Family, Career, and
2 Community Leaders of America as an integral part of the
3 Family and Consumer Sciences education programs; and
4 WHEREAS, The Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
5 Teachers Association develops and encourages the linkage
6 between Career and Technical Education/Family and Consumer
7 Sciences, business, and industry; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10 we recognize the Illinois Family and Consumer Sciences
11 Teachers Association present here today and congratulate them
12 for their efforts in working toward a better Illinois; and be
13 it further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to Carla Nilson, President of the Illinois Family
16 and Consumer Sciences Teachers Association.
