91_HR0598 LRB9113346CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that 3 the Darien Youth Club is celebrating its 40th Birthday on 4 July 25, 2000; and 5 WHEREAS, Over the past 40 years, the Darien Youth Club, 6 which began as the Lace-Marion Hills Youth Club in 1960, has 7 evolved from a small, informal boys' baseball program into a 8 formal community youth sports activities organization with a 9 membership, in all activities, of over 3,500 boys and girls; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, It is the club's intent to present all 12 activities in a "fun" oriented type of environment that will 13 result in an enjoyable and memorable experience for all 14 children and young adults participating in the activities; 15 and 16 WHEREAS, The Darien Youth Club feels that integrity, 17 honesty, sportsmanship, team spirit, community spirit, and 18 compassion are the most important qualifications that a 19 member, coach, instructor, or volunteer worker possesses; and 20 WHEREAS, The Darien Youth Club programs are for all 21 children, regardless of race, color, creed, sex, athletic 22 ability, or physical or mental ability; their philosophy is 23 that all children are created equal; therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 26 we congratulate the Darien Youth Club on its 40th Birthday 27 and we thank all the coaches, managers, and volunteer workers 28 for their dedication and devotion; and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 30 presented to President Thomas A. Skweres.
