91_HR0593 LRB9113342CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, 4-H is the largest youth organization in the 3 State of Illinois, challenging more than 250,000 Illinois 4 youth and adults with unique "hands on" learning each year; 5 and 6 WHEREAS, 4-H is an effective educational program based on 7 the expertise of the United States Department of Agriculture 8 and University of Illinois Extension planned by local, 9 county, and State committees; and 10 WHEREAS, More than 20,000 caring, nurturing adults work 11 together with 4-H youth in family and community environments 12 to create real life learning laboratories that help youth 13 practice skills they need today and will continue to use in 14 their future; and 15 WHEREAS, 4-H enriches Illinois youth with important 16 programs that make countless differences in the lives of 17 youth and adults and the communities in which they live; and 18 WHEREAS, 4-H is a family and community effort 19 supplementing and complementing the home, church, and school 20 with action-oriented and practical educational experiences; 21 therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 24 we hereby resolve that Thursday, March 2, 2000 is 4-H Day at 25 the State Capitol and we salute the outstanding 26 accomplishments of Illinois 4-H members; and be it further 27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 28 presented to Sharon Petefish of the Illinois 4-H.
