91_HR0587 LRB9113311CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives were 3 saddened to learn of the death of James "Jack" Childs of 4 Chicago on Monday, December 6, 1999; and 5 WHEREAS, He was born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1922; he 6 graduated from Boston and Dayton, Ohio, universities; he was 7 a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity for sixty years; and 8 WHEREAS, "Jack" Childs was a World War II veteran and a 9 long-time resident of the South Shore community; he was a 10 long-time member of the Congregational Church of Park Manor; 11 and 12 WHEREAS, He was married to his wife, Josie Brown Childs, 13 for thirty years; and 14 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 15 and friends, especially his wife, Josie; his sons, Jack Jr. 16 and Christopher; his daughters, Kendall and Patricia; his 17 brother, Clarence; his sister, Dorsey; and his three 18 grandchildren; therefore, be it 19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 21 we note with sorrow and regret the death of James "Jack" 22 Childs and extend our sincere condolences to his family and 23 friends; and be it further 24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 25 presented to his widow, Josie Brown Childs.
