1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Jason Blau, an esteemed resident of Deerfield
3 and a student at Caruso Junior High School, has achieved
4 national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by
5 receiving a 2000 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and
6 WHEREAS, This prestigious award, presented by The
7 Prudential Insurance Company of America in partnership with
8 the National Association of Secondary School Principals,
9 honors young volunteers across America who have demonstrated
10 an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and
11 WHEREAS, Jason Blau earned this award by giving
12 generously of his time and energy to organizing a
13 community-wide sports uniform and equipment drive to benefit
14 needy children and their families at the Chicago Commons'
15 Taylor House; and
16 WHEREAS, The success of the State of Illinois, the
17 strength of our communities, and the overall vitality of
18 American society depend, in great measure, upon the
19 dedication of young people like Jason Blau who use their
20 considerable talents and resources to serve others;
21 therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we hereby congratulate and honor Jason Blau as a recipient of
25 a Prudential Spirit of Community Award, recognize his
26 outstanding record of volunteer service, peer leadership and
27 community spirit, and extend best wishes for his continued
28 success and happiness; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to Jason Blau.
