91_HR0570 LRB9113142CBcbA 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of 3 this Body welcome the opportunity to recognize citizens of 4 this State who have made outstanding contributions to 5 society; and 6 WHEREAS, Wade Brunsmann of Belleville has announced his 7 retirement after nearly fifty years of representing the 8 residents of St. Clair County; and 9 WHEREAS, Wade Brunsmann is a veteran of the United States 10 Navy during World War II, having served as chief of engine 11 rooms aboard a minesweeper; and 12 WHEREAS, He received his engineering degree from Case 13 Western Reserve in Cleveland and opened Brunsmann Heating & 14 Refrigeration Service in Belleville in 1957; he passed the 15 business to his son, Mark, in 1987; and 16 WHEREAS, Wade Brunsmann was elected to the St. Clair 17 County Board in 1952; he served on the board's finance 18 committee, the MidAmerican Airport planning committee, the 19 county zoning committee, and the environment committee, among 20 others; and 21 WHEREAS, He was appointed by Jerry Costello to the 22 advisory board of Programs and Services for Older Persons 23 soon after its inception in 1973; and 24 WHEREAS, He was named officeholder of the year in 1986 by 25 the Belleville Democratic Committee and was awarded a 26 lifetime achievement award for outstanding public service by 27 the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council in 1996; and 28 WHEREAS, An honest man with great compassion, Wade 29 Brunsmann has earned the respect of all; therefore, be it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE -2- LRB9113142CBcbA 1 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 2 we congratulate and thank Wade Brunsmann for the dedicated 3 service he has given to the residents of St. Clair County and 4 wish him the best for the future; and be it further 5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 6 presented to Wade Brunsmann.
