91_HR0569 LRB9113163CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Illinois per capita income has grown by 93.6% 3 since 1985; and 4 WHEREAS, Presidents' and chancellors' salaries at 5 Illinois public universities have outpaced growth in per 6 capita income; and 7 WHEREAS, Civil service salaries at the Illinois Student 8 Assistance Commission have increased by 104.8%; and 9 WHEREAS, Civil service salaries at Illinois public 10 universities have increased by only 77.2%; therefore, be it 11 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 12 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 13 the governing board of each public university is encouraged 14 to correct the trend that has given rise to higher 15 administrative costs while underfunding civil service 16 salaries; and be it further 17 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives strongly 18 encourages each public university to distribute personal 19 services dollars in a manner that works toward salary equity 20 for civil service employees; and be it further 21 RESOLVED, That through the Board of Higher Education, the 22 governing board of each Illinois public university report to 23 the General Assembly regarding implementation of this 24 resolution by October 1, 2000; and be it further 25 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 26 forwarded to the Board of Higher Education and to the 27 governing board of each Illinois public university.
