91_HR0563 LRB9113113KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives 4 of people of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Larry Piper, of Danville, Illinois, will be 6 retiring from Danville High School on May 1, 2000; he has 7 served as trainer and equipment manager for 30 years, and 8 earned the reputation as being the most indispensable person 9 at the school; and 10 WHEREAS, Larry Piper was first acquainted with Danville 11 High School when he was a student; at the age of 16 he 12 dropped out of school and swore never to return; in 1970 he 13 returned to Danville High School with his GED and a job with 14 the school; he has served in a variety of positions since 15 those days, helping everyone from swimmers to football 16 players; and 17 WHEREAS, Larry Piper plans to travel upon his retirement 18 with his wife, Shirley; with a planned trip to the Northeast 19 in the summer, Larry Piper will have visited every state in 20 the nation except Hawaii and Alaska; therefore, be it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 22 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 23 we thank Larry Piper for a job well done; he is now a part of 24 the history of Danville High School, and will continue to be 25 remembered for his hard work and dedication to the students 26 and staff of Danville High School; and be it further 27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 28 presented to Larry Piper.
