1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House are pleased to
3 recognize significant achievements and important occasions in
4 the lives of athletes of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the Parkland
6 College Women's Cobras Volleyball Team has won the Division
7 II National Title; and
8 WHEREAS, The outstanding leadership, team spirit, and
9 sportsmanship of the Cobras sustains a long tradition of
10 athletic excellence at Parkland College; and
11 WHEREAS, Head Coach Brenda Winkeler and Assistant Coach
12 Sandy Scholtens-Hamilton have provided the instruction,
13 support, and inspiration which contributed to the spirit and
14 dedication put forth by this team; and
15 WHEREAS, The members of the Cobras are Stephanie Connell,
16 Jeanna Schurvinski, Mia Perry, Chandra Hensley, Lauren
17 Castel, Kara Peterson, Wendy Lantz, Nicci Frick, Jennifer
18 McCrory, Shelly Kraeger, Julie Brandmeyer, Tracy Nelson, and
19 LaToya Young; and
20 WHEREAS, The numerous achievements of the Parkland
21 College Cobras confirm our belief that hard work and
22 dedication are effective when you set goals and strive to
23 achieve them; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate the Parkland College Women's Cobras
27 Volleyball Team on winning the Division II National Title;
28 that we commend the coaches on their inspired leadership; and
29 that we extend our best wishes to them in the future; and be
30 it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Coach Brenda Winkeler on behalf of the Parkland
3 College Women's Cobras Volleyball Team.
