1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Michael Acerra
3 of Barrington Hills, Illinois, is celebrating the eightieth
4 anniversary of his birth at a party for family and friends on
5 December 11, 1999; and
6 WHEREAS, Michael Acerra was born on December 24, 1919, in
7 Kenosha, Wisconsin, to James and Maria Acerra, immigrants
8 from Italy; and
9 WHEREAS, He attended school in Forest Park, Illinois, but
10 left school to serve in the United States Army and was
11 decorated for his service in World War II in the Pacific
12 front; he was wounded in battle and returned on the Good Ship
13 Hope; and
14 WHEREAS, He married Lynn Rhymer on August 29, 1964 in
15 Hillside, Illinois, at his home; and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Acerra is the proud father of four children,
17 the late Patricia Keane, Michael Acerra, Michelle Coleman,
18 and Marc Acerra; he is the grandfather of six grandchildren,
19 Christy Keane, Patrick Keane, Tyler Abbott, Eric Abbott,
20 Victoria Coleman, and Luke Acerra; and
21 WHEREAS, Mr. Acerra is the devoted brother of Mary, Jean,
22 Fran, and Venita; and
23 WHEREAS, Mr. Acerra is a devoted husband, father,
24 grandfather, and brother; he is a favorite and loyal friend
25 to many; he is an avid sports fan who attended virtually all
26 of his children's football, baseball, hockey, figure skating,
27 and other events; and he is a life-long fan of Frank Sinatra;
28 therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate Mr. Michael Acerra on the occasion of his
2 eightieth birthday and extend to him our sincere best wishes
3 for the future; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Michael Acerra.
