91_HR0503 LRB9109768CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to 3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people 4 of this State; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Joseph John 6 Kane of Naperville is celebrating the 70th anniversary of his 7 birth at a family gathering on December 18, 1999; and 8 WHEREAS, Joseph John Kane was born December 19, 1929, in 9 Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph and Mary Kane, first generation 10 immigrants from Ireland; and 11 WHEREAS, He attended Presentation Elementary School and 12 Saint Mells High School, in Chicago; he then attended and 13 graduated from DePaul University in Chicago; and 14 WHEREAS, After a tour of duty with the United States Air 15 Force, Mr. Kane became a member of the Chicago Board of Trade 16 (CBOT) and spent 47 years as a Commodities Broker in the 17 Soybean pit; and 18 WHEREAS, Mr. Kane, over the span of 47 years, provided 19 service to his profession and to the Chicago Board of Trade 20 (CBOT) in a number of capacities, including service on the 21 CBOT governing board in the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's; and 22 WHEREAS, He married Dolores Joan Stonehocker on August 23 28, 1954, at St. Lukes Church in River Forest; and 24 WHEREAS, Mr. Kane is the proud father of eight children, 25 Michael Joseph, Rita Mary, Robert John, Lisa Ann (Evers), 26 Suzanne Marie (King), Mary Caroll (Kanjanapas), Teresa 27 Marguerite (Shine), and Joseph Patrick William; he is the 28 grandfather of nineteen grandchildren, Timothy Kane, Linda 29 Kane, Jennifer Kane, Megan Kane, Lisa Kane, Andrew Kane, John 30 Evers, Edward King, Brian Kane, Sara Evers, Joanne King, -2- LRB9109768CBcb 1 Angelique Kane, Patrick Kane, Mary Pat Evers, Douglas Kane, 2 Malachia Shine, Kirin Kanjanapas, Aoife Shine, and Robert 3 King; and 4 WHEREAS, Mr. Kane has also provided numerous hours of 5 service to his community and church, including the 6 establishment of St. Raphael Church in Naperville; 7 therefore, be it 8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 9 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 10 we congratulate Mr. Joseph John Kane on the occasion of his 11 70th birthday and extend to him our sincere best wishes for 12 the future; and be it further 13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 14 prepared and sent to Mr. Kane.
