1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives recognizes
3 the importance of community colleges in providing an
4 excellent education for the citizens of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Shawnee Community College offers fine
6 educational opportunities for the people of Alexander,
7 Pulaski, Massac, Johnson, Union, and part of Jackson
8 counties; and
9 WHEREAS, Shawnee Community College is growing and
10 preparing for the 21st century, and is currently building a
11 new Educational Center Building to further prepare students
12 for the technological age; and
13 WHEREAS, Shawnee Community College first began offering
14 classes in September of 1969, and recently held a thirtieth
15 anniversary celebration on the grounds of its campus in
16 Ullin, Illinois; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19 we offer congratulations and best wishes to Shawnee Community
20 College for its thirtieth anniversary in education in
21 Southern Illinois; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
23 given to the board of trustees of Shawnee Community College
24 and Dr. Terry Ludwig.
