1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the State
4 of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Vernon Park Church of God, 9011 S. Stony
6 Island Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, held a ribbon cutting and
7 dedicated the new Wyatt Community and Family Life Center on
8 September 11, 1999; and
9 WHEREAS, The Wyatt Community and Family Life Center
10 formerly housed the Globe Glass Company; it now will be home
11 to a state-of-the-art computer learning center, a senior
12 outreach component, after-school tutorial classes, and a
13 variety of other programs and services; the Center will place
14 an emphasis on children, youth, and families; and
15 WHEREAS, The Center will also have a multi-purpose
16 meeting room and a recreational area; the Center will be a
17 valuable addition to the community with its many available
18 benefits; and
19 WHEREAS, The Wyatt Community and Family Life Center is
20 named in honor of the church pastors, Reverends Claude and
21 Addie Wyatt; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we congratulate the Vernon Park Church of God on the
25 dedication of the new Wyatt Community and Family Life Center;
26 and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the Vernon Park Church of God.
