1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The football team of Illinois State University
3 earned its first Gateway Football Conference title in school
4 history; and
5 WHEREAS, The team completed its conference schedule with
6 a perfect 6-0 record and an undefeated home season; and
7 WHEREAS, The football Redbirds set a school record for
8 consecutive weeks ranked in the N.C.A.A. 1-AA top 25,
9 including a #5 ranking, the highest in school history; and
10 WHEREAS, Three players were named to the GTE All-District
11 V academic team, the most players of any institution in
12 Illinois; and
13 WHEREAS, Illinois State has set or tied 49 school records
14 in Todd Berry's four seasons as head coach; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17 we congratulate the players, Coach Todd Berry, his staff, and
18 all of those associated with the Illinois State University
19 football program on these significant accomplishments; and be
20 it further
21 RESOLVED, That we wish the team every success in the
22 post-season play-off games which begin shortly; and be it
23 further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to Coach Todd Berry.
