1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Those individuals who minister to the spiritual
3 needs of others are worthy of the highest respect and
4 admiration; and
5 WHEREAS, Father Thomas P. Aldworth, O.F.M., a Franciscan
6 priest of the Sacred Heart Province, is celebrating the
7 twenty-fifth year anniversary of his ordination, having been
8 ordained into the holy priesthood on June 15, 1974; and
9 WHEREAS, Father Thomas was born in Chicago on November 4,
10 1947; he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy
11 from Quincy College, a Master of Divinity Degree from
12 Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, a Master of Arts
13 Degree in Counseling from Louisiana Tech University, and a
14 Doctor of Ministry Degree in the field of Spirituality from
15 Catholic Theological Union; and
16 WHEREAS, Father Aldworth, a published author of Shaping a
17 Healthy Religion and Fashioning a Healthier Religion, now
18 serves as pastor of St. Peter's Church in the Loop in
19 Chicago, having previously served in many parishes and campus
20 ministries throughout the United States; and
21 WHEREAS, Father Aldworth's life and service are a shining
22 example of the love of God to all the people of this State;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Father Thomas P. Aldworth as he celebrates
27 twenty-five years in the holy priesthood and that we commend
28 him for his long and faithful devotion to God's work; and be
29 it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to him as an expression of our great respect and
