1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Police Officer Michael A. Ceriale of Chicago
4 on August 21, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, Police Officer Ceriale was shot on August 15,
6 1998, during what appeared to be a drug deal; he was rushed
7 to the hospital and died on August 21, 1998; and
8 WHEREAS, He was 26 years old and had been on the
9 Department for 15 months; he lived in Wicker Park with his
10 mother and had always wanted to be a police officer; and
11 WHEREAS, The passing of Police Officer Michael A. Ceriale
12 will be deeply felt by his family and friends; therefore, be
13 it
14 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16 we note with sorrow and regret the death of Police Officer
17 Michael A. Ceriale, whose commitment to his family and
18 community has been an inspiration to all who were privileged
19 to know him, and that we convey our heartfelt sympathy to his
20 family and friends; and be it further
21 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
22 presented to the family of Police Officer Michael A. Ceriale.
