91_HR0321 LRB9106818CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of this House were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Police Officer James H. Camp of Chicago on 4 March 9, 1999; and 5 WHEREAS, Police Officer Camp was fatally shot while on 6 duty; he joined the department on May 31, 1994 and was 7 assigned to the 21st District Tactical Unit; and 8 WHEREAS, He was born in Peoria; he graduated from the 9 Academy of Our Lady High School in 1983, where he played 10 football and participated in wrestling and weight lifting; he 11 attended Illinois Central College; and 12 WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Marine 13 Corps and served in the Philippines; and 14 WHEREAS, He was awarded a good conduct medal and 15 twenty-three honorable mentions; and 16 WHEREAS, The passing of Police Officer James H. Camp will 17 be deeply felt by his family and friends; therefore, be it 18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 19 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 20 we note with sorrow and regret the death of Police Officer 21 James H. Camp, whose commitment to his family and community 22 has been an inspiration to all who were privileged to know 23 him, and that we convey our heartfelt sympathy to his family 24 and friends; and be it further 25 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 26 presented to the family of Police Officer James H. Camp.
