1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Daniel J. Walsh, an esteemed resident of Chicago
3 and President of the Walsh Group, one of Chicago's historic
4 and successful construction companies, has been honored as
5 the winner of the 1999 Window of Opportunity Corporate Award;
6 and
7 WHEREAS, This prestigious award, presented by the Window
8 of Opportunity, Inc., a non-profit organization, works to
9 create partnership links to resources which improve the
10 quality of life of all public and assisted housing residents;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Walsh has shown his generosity and
13 commitment to community by developing and supporting
14 educational programs which encourage inner-city youth to
15 study the engineering field; and
16 WHEREAS, The success of the State of Illinois, the
17 strength of our communities, and the overall vitality of the
18 American society depend, in great measure, upon the
19 dedication of citizens like Daniel Walsh, who use their
20 considerable talents and resources to serve others;
21 therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we applaud Daniel J. Walsh for his dedication and commitment
25 in helping the inner-city youth and congratulate him on
26 receiving the 1999 Window of Opportunity Corporate Award; and
27 be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
