1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Dennis F. Voss of Northbrook and Palm Desert,
4 California, on April 17, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Voss was the organizer and former chairman
6 of the board of Parkway Bank & Trust Company in Harwood
7 Heights and the First State Bank of Chicago in Park Ridge; he
8 was named chairman emeritus in 1986; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Voss was a partner in S&V Builders of
10 Norridge and he developed and built several hundred
11 single-family homes in Harwood Heights and Norridge; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Voss was a former director of the Illinois
13 State Tollway, McCormick Place, WTTW-TV Channel 11, Alliance
14 College in Erie, Pennsylvania, and Felician College in
15 Chicago; and
16 WHEREAS, He was appointed by Governor James Thompson to
17 fill a vacancy on the Metropolitan Sanitary District; he
18 chaired the Lake Michigan Water Diversions Committee, the
19 Heart Fund, the Cancer Crusade, and the 100 Club of Cook
20 County; and
21 WHEREAS, He was vice-chairman of the Cal-Sag Development
22 and he was a former member of the Illinois State Auditor's
23 Office; and
24 WHEREAS, He was affiliated with the Harwood Heights Lions
25 Club and the Norridge Citadel of the Salvation Army; and
26 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
27 and friends, especially his wife, Irene; his son, Edwin; his
28 daughters, Alina Lipsky and Barbara Wolfrum; his
29 daughter-in-law, Cathie; his sons-in-law, Joel Lipsky and
30 Larry Wolfrum; and his six grandchildren; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we note with sorrow and regret the death of Dennis F. Voss
4 and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
5 and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his widow, Irene Voss.
