1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Women of Achievement Awards Benefit of the
3 YWCA provides a unique opportunity for business and civic
4 leaders in Lake and McHenry Counties to celebrate the
5 valuable contributions women are making in the workplace and
6 in the community; and
7 WHEREAS, A woman chosen to receive a Women of Achievement
8 Award embodies excellence in her field, is an outstanding
9 role model for other women in the field of endeavor, and has
10 gone beyond excellence to work on behalf of racial or
11 economic justice, equal opportunity, and enhancement of
12 quality of life; and
13 WHEREAS, The awards this year go to: Karla Koskinen and
14 JoAnne Zielinski for Arts, Alice Campbell for Business, Cindy
15 Harger for Community Volunteer, Gloria Huntoon and Myrtle
16 Rosemeyer for Education, Michelle Kuhn for Entrepreneur,
17 Patricia Anne Sutton for Professional, Laurie J. Meyer for
18 Public Service, and Aurie A. Pennick for Racial Justice;
19 therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate these women on the honor being paid them by
23 the YWCA and extend to them our best wishes for their
24 futures; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
26 presented to each person mentioned above.
