Offermann received his Bachelor of 3 Science Degree in English from Concordia University in 1958, 4 his Master of Arts Degree in English from Loyola University 5 in 1964, and his PhD in Administration and Supervision from 6 Loyola University in 1990; and 7 WHEREAS, Dr. Offermann began his teaching career at 8 Luther High School, Chicago, Illinois, in 1958; and 9 WHEREAS, Dr. Offermann has been a faithful, dedicated, 10 and unparalleled Teacher, Assistant Department Chair, 11 Department Chair, Assistant Principal, Assistant 12 Superintendent, Associate Superintendent, and 13 Superintendent/Principal at Oak Park and River Forest High 14 School since 1964; and 15 WHEREAS, Dr. Offermann embodies the true spirit of Oak 16 Park and River Forest High School and its motto, "Those 17 Things That Are Best"; and 18 WHEREAS, Donald A. Offermann, on July 1, 1999, retires 19 from teaching but will continue to keep education and 20 successes of young people and the tradition of Oak Park and 21 River Forest High School always foremost in his mind; 22 therefore, be it 23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 24 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 25 we express our appreciation of a grateful student body, 26 community, faculty, staff, and State for the exceptional 27 dedication, devotion, and services to the people of the 28 Villages of Oak Park and River Forest; and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 30 presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
