1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize
3 professions that have made outstanding contributions to the
4 well-being of the citizens of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, March 30 is a day dedicated as "Doctors' Day"
6 throughout the nation; it was first observed on March 30,
7 1933, and has moved on through the years until October 30,
8 1990, when President George Bush signed a resolution
9 designating March 30 as "National Doctors' Day"; and
10 WHEREAS, This year, we would like to express our
11 appreciation for the dedication and service provided by the
12 physicians of Illinois; through the care they provide in
13 hospitals, doctor's offices, and free clinics, they are
14 striving, on a daily basis, to provide for the health care
15 needs in our communities; therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18 we applaud the doctors in Illinois and wish them the best of
19 luck in the future; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That we designate March 30, 1999, as "Doctors'
21 Day" in Illinois; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to the Illinois State Medical Society.
