1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Robert H. Jarrell of Naperville will celebrate the fiftieth
8 anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Robert H. Jarrell and the former Elizabeth
10 Beidelman were united in holy matrimony on February 26, 1949,
11 at the First Methodist Church in Naperville; and
12 WHEREAS, Robert Jarrell is retired from the Illinois
13 Institute of Technology; Robert and Elizabeth are members of
14 Grace United Methodist Church in Naperville; together, both
15 Robert and Elizabeth enjoy world travel; and
16 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Katherine Lynn,
17 Michael Robert, Steven Alan, and Peter Mark; they are the
18 proud grandparents of Christopher Michael, Timothy James,
19 Brian Robert, Diana Quinn, Jennifer Lynn, Kenneth Scott, and
20 Benjamin Forrest Jarrell; and
21 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
22 highest plateaus when a couple such as Robert and Elizabeth
23 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
24 WHEREAS, Robert and Elizabeth stand as examples of the
25 best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
26 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
27 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
28 difference in today's world; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate Robert and Elizabeth Jarrell on the occasion
2 of their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them
3 for achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with
4 children and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that
5 we wish them happiness and good health in the future; and be
6 it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
