1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and
3 Industry has announced that Harrah's Joliet Casino is the
4 recipient of the Chamber's 1999 "Salute to Industry" award;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, The award will be presented at a business
7 celebration dinner on February 16, 1999; and
8 WHEREAS, Harrah's Joliet Casino is the twenty-third
9 recipient of the Salute to Industry Award; Harrah's made its
10 official debut in Joliet with the launching of the Northern
11 Star in May of 1993, followed by the Southern Star II; and
12 WHEREAS, Harrah's Joliet Casino is a large contributor to
13 the Joliet area, both in financial funding and employee
14 volunteerism; Harrah's has worked hard to be a part of the
15 community, with the awarding of $3,500 in scholarships in
16 1998, and employing 1,500 people from the area; therefore, be
17 it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we congratulate Harrah's Joliet Casino on receiving the 1999
21 Salute to Industry Award from the Joliet Region Chamber of
22 Commerce; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to Harrah's Joliet Casino.
