91_HR0056 LRB9102900KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to send their sincere condolences to the 4 family and friends of John T. Case, who passed away January 5 22, 1999; and 6 WHEREAS, John Case was a resident of Park Ridge, 7 Illinois; his survivors include his wife, June; his sons, 8 John Jr., and George; his daughter, Fae Diephert; six 9 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and 10 WHEREAS, John Case was appointed by former Governor James 11 R. Thompson to the Illinois Conservation Advisory Board; Mr. 12 Case served on the Board for twelve years, serving seven 13 years as chairman; Mr. Case was president of the Great Lakes 14 Association of Outdoor Writers, the Illinois Hunting 15 Preserves Association, and the Illinois Division of the Izaak 16 Walton League; he was a member of the National Press 17 Photographers Association, and the Outdoor Writers 18 Association of America; and 19 WHEREAS, Mr. Case was the host of "The Sportsman's Case", 20 a radio program that aired from the 1970's to the 1980's; he 21 was also the writer of a weekly outdoors column for the News 22 Sun in Waukegan, and edited Illinois Hunter magazine; and 23 WHEREAS, During World War II Mr. Case served as a naval 24 gunnery instructor; for 20 years he worked as a sound 25 technician for WBBM-TV before the chance to work on radio 26 became open; through his work on radio John Case became known 27 as an advocate for ecology causes; the State of Illinois has 28 lost a valued spokesman for conservation with the death of 29 John T. Case; therefore, be it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 31 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that -2- LRB9102900KBkb 1 we mourn, along with his family and friends, the death of 2 John T. Case of Park Ridge, Illinois; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 4 presented to the family of John T. Case.
