1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate citizens of the
4 State of Illinois who have made great achievements in their
5 lives; and
6 WHEREAS, Raj Karinattu of Danville, Illinois will be
7 honored at the 66th annual First Citizen's Award banquet on
8 February 16, 1999; the award is presented by the American
9 Business Club of Danville to an individual that has made an
10 outstanding contribution to the community; and
11 WHEREAS, Raj Karinattu has helped raise money for
12 community, church, and school projects; projects she has
13 helped include: the Vermillion County Medical Society
14 Alliance, the Danville Symphony Guild and Danville Symphony
15 Board, the Danville Area Arts Council, the Center for
16 Children's Services, YWCA, United Samaritans Medical Center
17 Foundation, Schlarman High School Foundation, Laura Lee
18 Fellowship House, United Way, and St. Paul's Catholic Church;
19 and
20 WHEREAS, Raj Karinattu is married to Dr. Joseph Karinattu
21 and has two adult children; she also works part-time as a
22 sociology teacher at Danville Area Community College;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Raj Karinattu on receiving the First Citizen
27 Award; it is because of her hard work and volunteer spirit
28 that the people of Danville can be proud to have her as one
29 of their own; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Raj Karinattu.
