91_HR0041 LRB9102405CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the House were saddened to learn 3 of the death of James E. Sullivan of Rockford on November 20, 4 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, He was born in San Francisco, California, on 6 October 13, 1927; he was a veteran of the United States Army; 7 and 8 WHEREAS, He was a reporter for newspapers in South Bend 9 and Elkhart, Indiana; for several years he wrote for the 10 Rockford Register-Republic and the Rockford Morning Star as 11 the theater critic; and 12 WHEREAS, He was a sports fan of the Cubs and the Fighting 13 Irish of Notre Dame; he spent countless hours researching and 14 documenting his family's history through the State archives, 15 the internet, and a journey to Ireland; and 16 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 17 and friends, especially his wife, Lois; his sons, James, 18 Thomas, Robert, Timothy, and Daniel; his daughters, Peggy, 19 Julie, and Katharine; his grandchildren, Charlie, Willie, 20 Carly, Michael, Thomas, Gabriel, Molly, and Riley; his 21 brothers, Bernard, William, and the late Robert; and his 22 sisters, Patricia Sullivan Condon, Barbara Sullivan Finn May, 23 Helen Dolores Sullivan, and the late Jane Sullivan Biggins 24 and Mary Ann Sullivan; therefore, be it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 26 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 27 we note with sorrow and regret the death of James E. Sullivan 28 and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; 29 and be it further 30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 31 presented to his widow, Lois Sullivan.
