1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to honor significant milestones in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State; and
5 WHEREAS, Howard A. Meyer and Melba M. (Droste) Meyer were
6 married at Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse, Illinois on
7 February 5, 1949; and
8 WHEREAS, Together they farmed in rural West Chebanse and
9 rural East Chebanse in 1954; on February 10, 1969 they sold
10 their farm, moved into Chebanse, and took over an insurance
11 and real estate business, the Schultz Agency; and
12 WHEREAS, On November 10, 1974 the couple moved to West
13 Chebanse; on February 5, 1999 they will celebrate fifty years
14 of wedded bliss; and
15 WHEREAS, Howard and Melba are the proud parents of James
16 Howard Meyer, born on November 25, 1949, and Jeanne Ruth
17 Meyer, born on April 15, 1952; they have four grandchildren:
18 Jason Joseph, Brett Adele, Jennifer Jeanne, and Sarah Beth;
19 therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate Howard and Melba Meyer on their fiftieth
23 wedding anniversary; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to Howard and Melba Meyer.
