1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Charles and Marjory King of Champaign, Illinois will
8 celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Charles and Marjory King were united in holy
10 matrimony on August 20, 1948, in Champaign; and
11 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Jessie Louise
12 King, Margerie Ellen Ward, and Charles Walter King, Jr.; they
13 have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and
14 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
15 highest plateaus when a couple such as Charles and Marjory
16 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
17 WHEREAS, The Kings stand as examples of the best of our
18 society, and their love and devotion to each other and to
19 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard
20 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's
21 world; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we congratulate Charles and Marjory King on the occasion of
25 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
26 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
27 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
28 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
