1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Mark and Eunice Hettinger of Philo, Illinois will celebrate
8 the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Mark and Eunice Hettinger were united in holy
10 matrimony on January 12, 1949, at Immaculate Conception
11 Church in Bongard; Mr. Hettinger is retired from farming in
12 the Bongard area; and
13 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Alice Kaufman,
14 Charlene Behrends, Mary Hettinger, and Julie Hettinger; they
15 have four grandchildren; and
16 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
17 highest plateaus when a couple such as Mark and Eunice
18 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
19 WHEREAS, The Hettingers stand as examples of the best of
20 our society, and their love and devotion to each other and to
21 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard
22 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's
23 world; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Mark and Eunice Hettinger on the occasion of
27 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
28 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
29 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
30 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
31 further
