1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Women currently make 80% of all consumer
3 purchasing decisions and women-owned businesses are among the
4 fastest growing sectors of the economy; and
5 WHEREAS, Beginning on January 14, 1999, the Center for
6 Policy Alternatives is issuing a new Challenge to Secure
7 America's Economic Future; and
8 WHEREAS, The purpose of the Challenge is to promote the
9 economic future of families by encouraging lawmakers to
10 recognize the economic potential of women and to provide
11 women with the support they need to balance family and work;
12 therefore, be it
13 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-
14 FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15 recognize and support the Center for Policy Alternatives'
16 Challenge to Secure America's Economic Future; and be it
17 further
18 RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to the Center for Policy Alternatives.
