1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4261
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 4261 as follows:
3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:
5 "Section 5. The Toll Highway Act is amended by changing
6 Section 3.1 as follows:
7 (605 ILCS 10/3.1) (from Ch. 121, par. 100-3.1)
8 Sec. 3.1. Advisory committee. There is created an
9 advisory committee composed of 7 members of the House of
10 Representatives appointed by the Speaker thereof, 7 members
11 of the Senate appointed by the President, and 15 members
12 appointed by the Governor. It is the intention of this
13 section that the Governor's appointments shall be made with
14 due consideration to the location of proposed toll highway
15 routes so that maximum geographic representation from the
16 areas served by said toll highway routes may be accomplished
17 insofar as practicable. The members shall be appointed during
18 the month of June and shall serve from the first day in July
19 in odd-numbered years for a two-year period and until their
20 successors are appointed and qualified, except that General
21 Assembly members shall serve such term or until termination
22 of their legislative service, whichever first occurs.

1 Appointments shall be in writing and filed with the Secretary
2 of State as a public record. Vacancies shall be filled in the
3 same manner as original appointments. The committee shall
4 choose from among its members a chairman and secretary. It
5 may meet on call of the chairman or any 6 members. The
6 members shall receive no compensation but shall be reimbursed
7 for expenses necessarily incurred in the performance of their
8 duties.
9 The committee shall meet with the Illinois State Toll
10 Highway Authority and shall advise it on all matters relating
11 to policy and the administration of the toll highway system.
