 1        AN ACT concerning State's attorneys.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.   The  Counties  Code  is amended by changing
 5    Section 4-2004 as follows:

 6        (55 ILCS 5/4-2004) (from Ch. 34, par. 4-2004)
 7        Sec. 4-2004. Collection  and  disposition  of  fines  and
 8    forfeitures.  It  shall  be  the duty of State's attorneys to
 9    attend to the collection of  all  fines  and  forfeitures  in
10    criminal  cases,  and they shall, without delay, pay over all
11    fines  and  forfeitures  collected  by  them  to  the  county
12    treasurer to be deposited into the general corporate fund  of
13    the  county, except as otherwise specifically provided by law
14    and except for any  such  portion  that  as  is  required  by
15    Section 9.1 of "The Illinois Police Training Act" and Section
16    5-9-1  of  the  "Unified Code of Corrections" to be paid into
17    The Traffic and Criminal Conviction  Surcharge  Fund  in  the
18    State  Treasury, unless the fines and forfeitures are subject
19    to disbursement by the circuit clerk under  Section  27.5  of
20    the Clerks of Courts Act.
