1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by adding
2 Section 24-1.05.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by adding
6 Section 24-1.05 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/24-1.05 new)
8 Sec. 24-1.05. Own land and own abode defined. For the
9 purposes of subsections 24-1(a)(4) and 24-1(a)(10), a
10 person's own land or own abode does not include the common
11 areas of an apartment building, cooperative apartment, or
12 condominium over which the resident of the building lacks
13 exclusive control and possession.
