91_HB3844 LRB9111031DHmg 1 AN ACT to amend the Railroad Police Act by changing 2 Section 2. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Railroad Police Act is amended by 6 changing Section 2 as follows: 7 (610 ILCS 80/2) (from Ch. 114, par. 98) 8 Sec. 2. Conductors of all railroad trains, and the 9 captain or master of any boat carrying passengers within the 10 jurisdiction of this state, is vested with police powers 11 while on duty on their respective trains and boats, and may 12 wear an appropriate badge indicative of such authority. 13 In the policing of its properties any railroad may 14 provide for the appointment and maintenance of such police 15 force as it may find necessary and practicable to aid and 16 supplement the police forces of any municipality in the 17 protection of its property and the protection of the persons 18 and property of its passengers and employees, or otherwise in 19 furtherance of the purposes for which such railroad was 20 organized. While engaged in the conduct of their employment, 21 the members of such railroad police force have and may 22 exerciselikepolice powers as those conferred upon the 23 police of cities. 24 (Source: Laws 1968, p. 198.)
