91_HB3500eng HB3500 Engrossed LRB9111870NTks 1 AN ACT to amend the Board of Higher Education Act by 2 adding Section 9.29. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended 6 by adding Section 9.29 as follows: 7 (110 ILCS 205/9.29 new) 8 Sec. 9.29. Analysis of educational needs of East St. 9 Louis area. The Board, the Illinois Community College Board, 10 and the State Board of Education shall conduct an analysis of 11 the educational needs of the East St. Louis metropolitan 12 area, with the aim of enhancing educational opportunity and 13 educational achievement in the region. The analysis shall 14 include the full spectrum of education, from pre-school 15 through higher education, and shall be undertaken in 16 consultation with the citizens of the East St. Louis area and 17 the educational entities now operating in the East St. Louis 18 area. The Board, the Illinois Community College Board, and 19 the State Board of Education shall make a preliminary report 20 to the Governor and the General Assembly during the fall 2000 21 Session of the General Assembly and a second report during 22 February 2001. This Section is repealed on July 1, 2001. 23 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 24 1, 2000.
