91_HB3268 LRB9110236STcs 1 AN ACT concerning smoking at stadiums in Illinois. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 5 Clean Stadium Air Act. 6 Section 5. Findings. The General Assembly finds that 7 smoking at stadiums is a hazard and a danger to public safety 8 and that tobacco smoke is annoying, harmful, and dangerous to 9 human beings and a hazard to public health. 10 Section 10. Definition. In this Act, "stadium" means a 11 publicly or privately owned or operated sports or 12 entertainment arena, community or convention hall, special 13 event center, or amusement facility, including a special 14 event center in a public park. "Stadium" does not include a 15 hotel, restaurant, or school. 16 Section 15. Prohibitions. No person shall smoke or 17 possess a lighted cigarette, cigar, or pipe or any other 18 lighted form of tobacco or a similar substance used for 19 smoking at any stadium in this State. 20 Section 20. Penalty. Any person who violates the 21 provisions of this Act is guilty of a petty offense 22 punishable by a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $250.
