1 AN ACT concerning day care homes.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by
5 adding Section 5.6 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 10/5.6 new)
7 Sec. 5.6. Day care homes; number of children.
8 (a) A beginning, as that term is used in Title 89 of the
9 Illinois Administrative Code, caring for children alone may
10 care for a mixed age group consisting of up to 8 children
11 under the age of 12 years. Of the 8 children under the age
12 of 12 years, all 8 children may be under the age of 5 years,
13 but no more than 3 children may be under the age of 24
14 months.
15 (b) In addition to the children who may receive day care
16 in accordance with subsection (a), a day care home may
17 accept 4 additional children who are attending school
18 full-time if an assistant is present at all times when the
19 school children are present.
