1 AN ACT concerning urban renewal.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Urban Renewal Consolidation Act of 1961
5 is amended by changing Section 11 as follows:
6 (315 ILCS 30/11) (from Ch. 67 1/2, par. 91.111)
7 Sec. 11. Whenever the Department determines that a
8 particular slum or blighted area, or any other area which may
9 constitute a redevelopment project, as herein defined in
10 Section 3 of this Act, should be acquired pursuant to the
11 provisions of this Act, such determination together with an
12 accurate description of the area included in such
13 determination and the date on which the determination was
14 made shall be immediately set forth in the records of the
15 Department. Such determinations by the Department may be made
16 from time to time and need not all be made at one time. Each
17 such determination shall be evidenced by a resolution adopted
18 by the Department.
19 The area of each such determination shall be specifically
20 designated in the resolution as a "Slum and Blighted Area
21 Redevelopment Project" or a "Blighted Vacant Area
22 Redevelopment Project," according to the determination of the
23 Department. A certified copy of such resolution shall be
24 delivered to the governing body of the municipality in which
25 the area is situated. No such determination shall be of any
26 force or effect until such time as it has been approved by
27 the governing body of the municipality in which the area is
28 situated.
