91_HB2910eng HB2910 Engrossed LRB9109118ACtm 1 AN ACT in relation to the regulation of professions. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail 5 Technology Act of 1985 is amended by changing Section 3-7.1 6 as follows: 7 (225 ILCS 410/3-7.1) (from Ch. 111, par. 1703-7.1) 8 Sec. 3-7.1. Inactive status; restoration from inactive 9 status. Any cosmetologist, cosmetology teacher, or 10 cosmetology clinic teacher who notifies the Department in 11 writing on forms prescribed by the Department, may elect to 12 place his or her license on an inactive status and shall, 13 subject to rules of the Department, be excused from payment 14 of renewal fees until he or she notifies the Department in 15 writing of his or her desire to resume active status. 16 Any cosmetologist, cosmetology teacher, or cosmetology 17 clinic teacher requesting restoration from inactive status 18 shall be required to pay the current renewal fee and to 19 qualify for the restoration of his or her license, subject to 20 rules of the Department. A license shall not be restored 21 from inactive status unless the cosmetologist, cosmetology 22 teacher, or cosmetology clinic teacher requesting the 23 restoration completes the number of hours of continuing 24 education required for renewal of a license under Section 25 3-7. 26 Any cosmetologist, cosmetology teacher, or cosmetology 27 clinic teacher whose license is in an inactive status shall 28 not practice in the State of Illinois. 29 (Source: P.A. 89-387, eff. 1-1-96; 90-302, eff. 8-1-97.)
