1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Civil Administrative Code by
2 adding Section 55.58a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Civil Administrative Code is
6 amended by adding Section 55.58a as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 2310/55.58a new)
8 Sec. 55.58a. Study; nurse assistant incentive program.
9 The Department shall undertake a study to determine what
10 incentives might be necessary to attract and retain nurse
11 assistants to work in Illinois long-term care facilities.
12 Based on any available research and the experience of other
13 states and the private sector, a variety of incentive
14 programs shall be examined for their feasibility and possible
15 development and implementation in Illinois. Based upon the
16 results of the study, the Department shall implement a nurse
17 assistant incentive program no later than January 1, 2001,
18 subject to available appropriations.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20 becoming law.
