1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2676
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2676 as follows:
3 by replacing the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Mental Health and Developmental
5 Disabilities Administrative Act by adding Section 71."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental
9 Disabilities Administrative Act is amended by adding Section
10 71 as follows:
11 (20 ILCS 1705/71 new)
12 Sec. 71. Disease management pilot program. The
13 Department shall establish a 3-year pilot program to
14 institute disease management guidelines for the provision of
15 behavioral health care services to persons who receive health
16 care services supported in whole or in part by State or
17 federal funding. To implement the pilot program, the
18 Department shall contract with a single community-based,
19 not-for-profit provider of a comprehensive array of both
20 mental health and chemical dependency services located in

1 Peoria County. The program shall develop a disease
2 management approach that uses research-based best practice
3 guidelines to achieve the desired outcomes with the most
4 efficient use of resources.
5 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6 becoming law.".
