91_HB2283sam001 LRB9104558MWpcam02 1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2283 2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2283 on page 3, by 3 replacing lines 7 through 23 with the following: 4 "Section 20. Appointment of commissioners; vacancy. 5 (a) Within 90 days after the effective date of this Act, 6 the Governor shall appoint one commissioner to the 7 Mid-America Port Commission created by agreement between 8 Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa. This commissioner must be 9 appointed from among those members of the Mid-America 10 Intermodal Authority Port District Board that were appointed 11 by the Governor. 12 (b) Within 90 days after the effective date of this Act, 13 the Mid-America Intermodal Authority Port District Board, 14 from its members, shall appoint 2 commissioners to the 15 Mid-America Port Commission. 16 (c) Commissioners must be members of the Mid-America 17 Intermodal Authority Port District Board. If a commissioner 18 ceases to be a member of the Mid-America Intermodal Authority 19 Port District Board, there shall be vacancy in the office of 20 commissioner. 21 (d) A vacancy in the office of commissioner shall be 22 filled by appointment of the Governor, in the case of a 23 vacancy in the office of commissioner appointed by the -2- LRB9104558MWpcam02 1 Governor, or by the Mid-America Intermodal Authority Port 2 District Board, in the case of a vacancy in the office of 3 commissioner appointed by the Mid-America Intermodal 4 Authority Port District Board."; and 5 on page 4, by inserting below line 1 the following: 6 "Section 27. Commissioners; compensation. The 7 commissioners shall serve without compensation but shall be 8 entitled to be reimbursed for their necessary expenses 9 incurred in the performance of their duties.".
