91_HB2236 LRB9102582RCks 1 AN ACT to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 by 2 changing Section 115-7.2. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is 6 amended by changing Section 115-7.2 as follows: 7 (725 ILCS 5/115-7.2) (from Ch. 38, par. 115-7.2) 8 Sec. 115-7.2. Post-traumatic stress syndrome; experts. 9 In a prosecution for an illegal sexual act perpetrated upon a 10 victim, including but not limited to prosecutions for 11 violations of Sections 12-13 through 12-16 of the Criminal 12 Code of 1961, or ritualized abuse of a child under Section 13 12-33 of the Criminal Code of 1961, testimony by an expert, 14 qualified by the court relating to any recognized and 15 accepted form of post-traumatic stress syndrome shall be 16 admissible as evidence. 17 (Source: P.A. 87-1167.)
