1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by changing
2 Section 20-2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
6 changing Section 20-2 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/20-2) (from Ch. 38, par. 20-2)
8 Sec. 20-2. Possession of explosives or explosive or
9 incendiary devices. (a) A person commits the offense of
10 possession of explosives or explosive or incendiary devices
11 in violation of this Section when he or she possesses,
12 manufactures or transports any explosive compound, timing or
13 detonating device for use with any explosive compound or
14 incendiary device and either intends to use such explosive or
15 device to commit any offense or knows that another intends to
16 use such explosive or device to commit a felony.
17 (b) Sentence.
18 Possession of explosives or explosive or incendiary
19 devices in violation of this Section is a Class 2 felony.
