1 AN ACT to amend the School Code by amending Section
2 21-2b.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
6 Section 21-2b as follows:
7 (105 ILCS 5/21-2b) (from Ch. 122, par. 21-2b)
8 Sec. 21-2b. Teacher education program entrance. In
9 consultation with the State Teacher Certification Board the
10 State Board of Education shall develop procedures that which
11 ensure that all students entering approved teacher education
12 programs are proficient in the areas of reading, mathematics
13 and language arts. Each institution of higher learning shall
14 submit to the State Teacher Certification Board a plan that
15 which sets forth procedures for implementation of this
16 Section.
