91_HB1866 LRB9104795MWdv 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act 2 by changing Section 8. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Illinois Public Labor Relations Act is 6 amended by changing Section 8 as follows: 7 (5 ILCS 315/8) (from Ch. 48, par. 1608) 8 Sec. 8. Grievance procedure. The collective bargaining 9 agreement negotiated between the employer and the exclusive 10 representative shall contain a grievance resolution procedure 11 thatwhichshall apply to all employees in the bargaining 12 unit and shall provide for final and binding arbitration of 13 disputes concerning the administration or interpretation of 14 the agreement unless mutually agreed otherwise. Any 15 agreement containing a final and binding arbitration 16 provision shall also contain a provision prohibiting strikes 17 for the duration of the agreement. The grievance and 18 arbitration provisions of any collective bargaining agreement 19 shall be subject to the Illinois "Uniform Arbitration Act". 20 The costs of such arbitration shall be borne equally by the 21 employer and the employee organization. 22 (Source: P.A. 83-1012.)
